First Time in Front of Computer in a Week

Ahhhhh...

Staying at my friend Jen's* house tonight. I get a couple hours in front of a TV, a computer, and couch space in exchange for some wine. An added bonus is the lovin' I'm getting from Skitchy and Ivy, Jen's two cats.  Below is a list of highlights from the past week of couch surfing since I have just now had a chance to write:

Sunday--last official day in the apartment. First night on Emily's* couch, who lives reasonably close to old apartment. Former roomie (aka "Sizzle") and I checked out the storage unit and successfully returned the U-Haul van by its 2pm deadline.

Monday--bribed Emily to help me decide on the last few things to move into the storage unit. Decided it was a good day to have a mojito for lunch. Worked on strategically placing bags all over the city with extra clothes and laundry detergent. Discussed dropping clothes off at cleaners instead of doing laundry myself and lugging detergent around (decided on keeping a small bottle of detergent at work just-in-case). Met up with Jena* at the local bar after realizing I was going to be organizing the last few items and cleaning until 9 o'clock at night--I need a break, okay?

Broker came by. I asked about the paint in the bathroom and on the walls. He called the super and told him not to make me paint (the bathroom is a mandarin color--yes, I picked it). He told me he would make sure the landlady didn't mind.

Stayed with E again. Ordered Chinese and watched Scream Queen episodes off of Tivo.

Tuesday: Worked morning. Got off minutes before meeting the landlady for the final walk-through. Could not call Super because my phone was dead. Ran (in the humidity, 90 degrees heat) to the apartment, plugged in my phone, called my super. Turns out my landlady couldn't meet with me until 7 anyway. Picked out a nice bottle of wine for my landlady and a card for my super. Went to local bar to sign cards. Met with LL, got full security deposit back and a hug. Best Landlady ever. Turns out she just bought a new wine fridge, too. Stayed with Sizzle.

Wednesday: Did not want to move. Sizzle's new bed is SO comfortable, and she has AC. Had a Diet Coke for breakfast and went to work. Stayed at E's house again.

Thursday: Honestly, I don't remember Thursday at all.

Friday: Here at Jen's.

Thursday, Again: Wait, I remember now. Stayed at my friend Yana's house who lives near the old apartment. Had apple juice before bed. Good times.
